Glasgow EuroWalk

In 1944, Sir William and Constance, Lady Burrell, gifted their amazing collection to Glasgow, their home city. Their collection is housed in a purpose-designed, award-winning building set against woodland in Pollok Country Park, thus creating the sympathetic natural world setting which the Burrells desired.   Reaching across 6,000 years of history, the collection includes fine Chinese ceramics and bronzes, significant Islamic arts, and objects from ancient civilisations; exceptional examples of European fine art, and a wonderful array of objects from late Medieval and early Renaissance Europe such as important collections of tapestries and stained glass. The Burrell Collection building is closed currently for refurbishment (May 2021).
